The Embassy of India provides scholarships to Nepalese students enrolled in Bachelor 1st year/1st semester of
undergraduate courses in recognized institutions of Nepal. Owing to this scheme, a total of 200 Nepalese students are benefited every year. With the same intention, the Embassy of India, Kathmandu has invited online application for Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme 2021-22 from all the eligible Nepali nationals. The deadline for application is Jan 6, 2022.
The scholarship scheme is distributed as follows in various streams of Bachelor level courses:
1. MBBS / BDS: 50
2. B.E. / B. Arch. / B.A.M.S.: 50
3. Others (B.B.A. / B.B.S. / B.Sc. etc.): 100
Eligibility
The candidates applying for this scheme must be a Nepali citizen and have at least secured 70% marks at the 12th level. The family income of candidate must be less than NRs. 2,00,000/- per annum. Applicants must be between 17 to 22 years of age as on 1st July, 2022.
Scholarship Amount
Selected students in medical and engineering disciplines will get a scholarship of NRs. 4,000/ month while students from other disciplines will be given NRs. 3,000/ month. The scholarship will be discontinued if percentage of mark obtained by the selected candidates falls below 50% in each subsequent year
Selection Process
Candidates will be selected on the basis of the marks they have secured in class 12th and their annual family income. Lesser the income and more the marks secured, higher the chances of selection become. In addition to this, physically challenged students are given special priority and for that, they must show a proof of being physically challenged.
How to apply?
Applicants must visit the website http://www.goischolarship.com.np and create a user account in the very first step. In order to create user account or register, following details must be provided accurately:
i) Full Name
ii) Address
iii) Email address (must be a valid one)
iv) Contact number (must be accurate one)
After registration is done, candidate should now again visit the same website and now he / she can sign in using the email address and password. Then he / she should start filling the actual form. Make sure that the citizenship you upload here is first English translated and then notarized. In order to get family income proof and proof of being physically challenged (if you are), candidates are required to submit application to his/her ward / CDO / municipality and get a letter from there. That particular letter must be uploaded while filling online form.
