A good soil exploration report should normally comprise the following:
i) Introduction, which includes the scope of investigation.
ii) Description of proposed structure, the location and geological conditions at site.
iii) Details of the method of explorations.
iv) A brief description of the various field and laboratory test carried out.
v) Depth of the ground water table and changes in water levels.
vi) Analysis and discussion of test results.
vii) Calculations for determining safe bearing pressure pile loads, etc.
viii) Recommendations about the type of foundation of structure.
ix) Tables containing borehole logs, and other field and laboratory test results.
x) Drawings, graphs, soil figures, etc.
xi) Conclusion, the main finding of investigations should be clearly stated.
