Kathmandu Engineering College
Kathmandu Engineering College(KEC) is a private engineering college affiliated with Tribhuwan University(TU). KEC was founded in 1998 and is the first ISO: 9001: 2008 certified college of Nepal. KEC provides multiple engineering courses and facilities for engineering students which we will be discussing below.
Location and Building
KEC is located in Kalimati, Kathmandu. The KEC compound expands to over 30 ropanies. Students can reach the college with ease through private or public vehicles as the college is right by the Kalimati-Kalanki road and the college also provides parking space for two-wheelers as well as four-wheelers.
KEC provides multiple Bachelor’s degree courses with a focus on both practical and theoretical Engineering: Architecture, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Communication & Information Engineering.

KEC provides a 10% scholarship according to Tribhuwan University rules. Other than that, Female students get an extra 10% reservation besides the merit list.
10% of the sponsorship scheme is provided to students of each faculty.
Apart from quality practical and theoretical education, KEC also provides a lot of other facilities like separate hostels for boys and girls, cafeteria, library, guidance and counseling, etc. KEC also has different clubs like KEC Electrical club, Robotics club, KEC IT club, KEC yoga club, etc. and offers membership at different renowned clubs like Microsoft Student Partner, LEO Clubs of Kathmandu, etc.
The prescribed students’ uniform is as follows:
- White Shirt
- Navy Blue Pants
- Black Shoes
- Tie (prescribed by the college)
- Navy Blue Sweater/ Jacket / Coat
